CLASS EXPECTATIONS and ROUTINES
THE NUMBER ONE RULE IN CLASS IS RESPECT.
HOWEVER, TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL AND POSITIVE CLASSROOM ATMOSPHERE, IT IS NECESSARY TO ESTABLISH A MORE DEFINED SET OF RULES.
THE NUMBER ONE RULE IN CLASS IS RESPECT.
HOWEVER, TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL AND POSITIVE CLASSROOM ATMOSPHERE, IT IS NECESSARY TO ESTABLISH A MORE DEFINED SET OF RULES.
- Be respectful of every student,
every adult and school property at
all times. Never make fun of anyone.
- Bring: pencil, agenda, math homework,
a reading book and positive attitude. *A spiral notebook is
needed, but will remain in the class.
- Enter the room quietly and on time and gather anything you need from the counter. Be seated before the bell rings. TARDIES are recorded if you are not in your seat at the bell. *Learning to be on time is a crucial life skill. In many occupations, employees are disciplined or terminated for arriving late to work. Everyone’s time is valuable and should be respected.
- Check
whiteboard. Read it
for daily ALEKS point goals and other important information.
- Log
on to ALEKS immediately and begin working while I take attendance and listen for any special instructions.
- Passes/Agenda No Agenda = No pass. You have 3 passes per 9 week period to be used
for emergencies. *I reserve the right not to allow passes to be
used.
- Cell phones/Ipods/Ipads. *I will use the CPMS
Student Handbook PEDG.
- Do
not bring anything to
class that may distract you or other students from learning. No
food! Capped, clear water bottles
are allowed but are to be placed on the floor.
- Computer
use is a privilege!
Only touch the laptop that was assigned to you. Be gentle with the keyboard,
monitor and mouse and do not handle any wiring. Do not place books or backpacks
on top of laptops or on computer tabletops. Intentional damage of computers is destruction of school
property and financial repayment will be required. Computers are not to be
personalized. (Screen savers, desktop backgrounds, video/audio settings, icons,
etc.) The school Internet Agreement will be enforced. Do not access any websites other than ALEKS unless
I have given you permission. Please do not print
unless I have given permission. Technology violations will result in loss of
computer use and you will be assigned written work in place.
- Participation/Effort is vital to your learning experience. The more you put in, the more you will get out.
- Stay on-task. Students need to focus their attention on the task
assigned to them. Behaviors such as
talking to neighbors, drawing, daydreaming, etc. decrease learning time.
Students need to be self-motivated to do what is appropriate and productive. *Staying on task is crucial in every job. If your
future boss assigns you a project to complete and notices that you are wasting
company time, you will receive disciplinary actions and could be fired.
- Remain
in your seat. Keep hands and feet to self. Please raise your hand and ask
for permission to move about the room if you need something. Keep all trash at
your desk and throw away when you exit.
- Check to be sure your desk and floor area are neat and clean. Laptops are to remain on and open at the end of each class. You are to remain in your seat until I dismiss class – no standing at your desk waiting for the bell.
*All CPMS Student Handbook rules apply and will be enforced in this class.
***A more detailed and lengthyguideline will be handed out and discussed the first few days of school.
